West Shore Community Library is now open in Volunteer Park
Reopening is a testament to the hours that have been contributed to give you the best library experience. Many have contributed their time and talents with special thanks to: Rhonda and Gary Steubs, Carolyn Wondrow, Michelle Allegra, Susan Bagley, Debbie Meiers, Randa Froebel, Gale and Jerry Thornburg, Performance Heating and Air, Mountain Craft Carpentry & Building, Doug Chase Painting, Sliters Hardware, Fox Electric, Masterpiece Carpet One, Steve Wajdic, Mike Sterry, Cody Allegro, Sue Bodurtha, Sheila Zohrer, Hollie Widdekind, Jack Gannon, Carol Clauson, Dennis King, Carol Cory, Paul Cerney, Jeff Moser, Jeff Moser Construction, Paul and Julie Andes, Youth with a Mission, Ed Titch, Sasha Jepson, and Poplawski and Weldele Cabinets.
We invite you back to a newly improved library with handicapped access throughout. To continue a safe environment for all patrons and volunteer librarians, masks will be required to enter and remain in the library. We ask that you socially distance with a maximum group of 3, please. Hand sanitizer and masks courtesy of Youth with a Mission will be available.
If you have a medical condition that precludes you from wearing a mask, please call the library at 406.844.3917. A volunteer will meet you outside.
We now have working patron computers and you can now fax, scan and print. Temporarily, there are no soft toys for the children, and only limited seating.
We share with you a love of libraries which is described in the book, The Library Book by Susan Orlean, "Those visits were dreamy, frictionless interludes that promised I would leave richer than I arrived. . . It was such a thrill leaving a place with things you hadn't paid for; such a thrill anticipating the new books we would read. . ."

Fund Drive in Process
WSCL is forever grateful for the gift of the building at 7191 US Hwy 93 and the outpouring of support from our community. While we no longer have to worry about paying rent, we still have utilities, insurance, internet, and the other costs of maintaining a building to provide you quality services. Our building did require significant remodeling and updating to serve as a modern safe library facility. This effort greatly impacted our reserve funds.
Unlike other libraries in Flathead County, we receive no financial assistance from the county or State of Montana. Every expense is supplied through your generosity.
As we prepare for our 25th anniversary year in 2021, we plan to increase our collection, services, and events. We need your financial support to reach these objectives. 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes to the library and its resources. For your convenience you may make a donation through PayPal or by clicking here for more info. Thank you for your continuing support.
