Chapters Wine Tasting and Art Auction
The Chapters Wine Tasting and Art Auction is the major source of revenue for the Library. Since its inception in 2002, the event has grown in size and scope. Thanks to the continued support of local artists, businesses and the community at large, it has become a successful annual event. It’s a fun evening that provides an opportunity to view and bid on art, taste a variety of over 40 wines and micro brew beers and socialize with friends and neighbors.

Children’s Summer Programs
Summertime is a great time for young readers to take advantage of the many books that are available at the West Shore Community Library. Programs begin a week after school vacation starts, and continue until the new school year.
WSCL offers a number of different programs for kids of all ages. We offer story hour for young children, and older kids are encouraged to participate in the summer reading program.
For young listeners, each story hour has a theme which incorporates an activity and/or art project that follows the stories that are read.
School age kids who sign up for our summer reading program are required to keep track of the hours that they spend reading. If they will read a certain number of hours, they receive a prize and will be entered in the grand prize drawing.
Come into the library to sign up, or call 844-3917 with any questions.

Annual Summer Book Sale
The annual summer book sale is another important source of revenue for the Library. The event is held in conjunction with the Lakeside Community Fair during the middle of July. This is a time for us to make room for new books, and get rid of some inventory that has not moved. Needless to say, we have a wide variety of books available at bargain basement prices.
